Project:
The Challenge: The UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy was celebrating its 165th year and needed a piece that honored the century-plus journey of one of the oldest pharmacy schools in the US while also presenting the exciting future ahead. Because we were covering so much time in a short video, we needed to develop something fun, and unique that still got our point across.
Our Approach: We built the story as a fluidly moving timeline that travels through 3d space using a mix of photos, text and illustration, introducing key visuals to match each era. Music changes kept the energy high as we continued the journey through history. Maintaining the style, we resolved the video with some specific initiatives happening at the school in the present and the future.
The Result: An animation that condensed 165 years of history into something high energy, and memorable rather than a dry history lecture. The era-specific visual language gave each chapter its own personality while keeping the whole thing connected. With this video, the College of Pharmacy was able to remind its donors how essential they are to the fabric of the industry and why keeping it alive is worth their while.
